Teen Fiction Writers Reading, July 26!

Saturday, July 07, 2018

Celebrate with us on Thursday, July 26, 6-8PM for a reading by our summer teen fiction writers at The Book House in Maplewood. We’ll be cheering on our students as we listen to them read from their original works. In addition, local poet, Kasey Perkins, will join us and read from her wonderful, forthcoming chapbook, WHEN THE DEAD GET MAIL (Finishing Line, January 2019). As always, this event is free and open to the public and we would love to see you there!

Here’s a little more about our special guest:

Kasey Perkins┬áis a teacher, editor, and writer who completed her MFA in poetry from the University of Missouri – St. Louis in 2014. She is the recipient of the 2014 Margaret Leong Children’s Poetry Prize, was shortlisted for the Arcadia Ruby Irene Poetry Prize, and received her MA in English at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, where she was both a frequent performer and organizer in the poetry slam community. Her chapbook, WHEN THE DEAD GET MAIL, is forthcoming with Finishing Line Press (January 2019). Her work has appeared in the Chattahoochee Review, Mid Rivers Review, Chariton Review, Digital Americana, the Wisconsin Review, Green Hills Literary Lantern, the Oracle, Lumina, and others.
